A Welsh Assembly Government funded programme offering key skills and basic skills qualifications, work taster placements and job search skills/techniques for the Retail and Customer Service sector. Learners aged between 16 & 60, are assigned a mentor to plan support and review their training/employment goals
Hours of attendance are 9-4 Monday-Friday with 1 hour for lunch, maximum 40 hrs per week in placement
There are six key skills, each of which are available at level 1-4 which are:
- Communication
- Working with others
- Improve own learning and performance
- Problem solving
- Application of number(not in combined learning pack)
- Information Technology(not in combined learning pack)
These are assessed through a portfolio of work by the training provider, then externally verified by OCR. Following successful paid employment, clients could then be eligible for a Foundation Modern Apprenticeship.
We also offer City & Guilds learning and accreditation in improving basic skills (reading, writing and maths)
